Bios – Noises Off

Andrew King
Andrew King.

Andrew King as LLOYD DALLAS

Andrew entered theatre in 2002 after taking his children to auditions for a kid’s panto. Since then he has played many, many characters, built sets, directed and done the lighting for dozens of shows. This show, Noises Off, will be the first time he has played a scene opposite his son and one he is looking forward to. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to portray director of Nothing On, Lloyd Dallas.

April Hayes Dickson.

April Hayes Dickson as BELINDA BLAIR

April is delighted Noises Off is set in the 1980s. It gives her an excuse to drag out the shoulder pads and big hair she once flaunted on Australian TV.

Catherine Gardner.

Catherine Gardner as DOTTY OTLEY

Last year Catherine performed in Spirit Level and enjoyed the experience so much she thought she would inflict herself again on the general public. When Catherine is not acting (who are we kidding, Catherine is always acting, usually the goat), she dabbles in a variety of jobs.

Jason King.

Jason King as TIM ALLGOOD

Jason has been involved in many shows over the years, but this will be his first time onstage with Oamaru Repertory Society. After moving down from Auckland last year, he is excited to work with this great group of actors and bring the role of Tim to life.

John Dickson.

John Dickson as SELSDON MOWBRAY

John Dickson plays Selsdon Mowbray, a once sought-after Shakespearean actor who has been miscast as a once sought-after thief. Sadly the ravages of time and alcohol have been unkind to both of them.

Phil Martin.

Phil Martin as FREDERICK FELLOWES

Phil tried out theatre last year performing in “The Spirit Level” and some dinner theatre nonsense. For some reason he has decided to attempt acting again. He is usually found hanging around in cricket and the outdoors.

Sye Johnson.

Sye Johnson as GARRY LEJEUNE

Having traded Auckland for Oamaru five years ago, Sye has been involved with theatre productions both north and south. By day, Sye teaches English at St Kevin’s College.

Renata Burnett.

Renata Burnett as BROOKE ASHTON

After performing in Musical Theatre Oamaru’s That Bloody Women and Mystery on the Orient Express, Renata was encouraged to audition for Noises Off and has loved every minute. Renata works at Apex Engineering in the profile cutting and structural department.

Rosalie Elliffe.

Rosalie Elliffe as POPPY NORTON-TAYLOR

In her first show with Oamaru Repertory, Rosalie is enjoying the irony of playing backstage assistant Poppy—while actually being on stage. Noises Off has also been a good distraction from her Master’s thesis.
